Seeking a classical art education, Hudson-Tolles attended West Virginia Wesleyan, graduated w/a B.S. in Art Education Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport and earned her MS with additional postgraduate work at Southern Connecticut State University.
Hudson-Tolles' horses have been featured on the cover of The Chronicle of the Horse, Visions, in Equine Images, The Horseman's Yankee Pedlar, and California Riding Magazine. She has artwork in the collections of the Newman/Woodward family, Denis Leary, John Lyons, The Phil Marino Racing Stables and newscaster Brian Williams.
Hudson-Tolles works in pastels, acrylics, graphite and mixed media and in her own words, "anything that intrigues me". She recently worked with the welder to create a life-size steel pony and is currently producing her fifth bronze. Her work has been shown in Mt. Kisco NY, Sacramento CA, Lexington KY, Atlanta GA, and numerous locations in the Northeast.
After years in Connecticut, Leslie now lives with her husband in Cleveland, North Carolina. She is an art educator at Sacred Heart School in Salisbury, NC and conducts a bimonthly Saturday class from her home studio.
L. Hudson-Tolles has been named a Signature Member of the Institute of Equine Artists.
